The meeting was called to order by President Timothy O. Nugent. Roll call followed the Pledge of Allegiance, led by President Nugent.

Motion by Boyce, seconded by Gesky, to waive the reading of the minutes and approve the Regular Meeting minutes of January 16, 2018.

Motion approved: 4-0 with Nugent voting yes (Phillips, Crockett and Martin absent)

Reports of Village Officials:

Village President’s Report: Timothy Nugent:

Mayor Nugent read the thank you card from the family of Don Sollers. Mr. Sollers was a past Chief of Police for the Village. The Village will dedicate a memory brick at Memorial Park in honor of Mr. Sollers.

Village Administrator’s Report: Chris LaRocque

Committee Reports:

Public Works and Utilities- Boyce

• Next Public Works Committee meeting to be held Tuesday February 27, 2018 at 7:00 am at the Village Hall Conference room.

Parks and Recreation-Martin, Absent

• No items on the agenda

• Next Properties & Recreation Committee meeting will be Wednesday March 21, 2018 at 7:00 pm in the Village Board Room.

Public Safety and Health-Dole

• No action items on the agenda

Trustee Dole covered the Manteno Police safety tips while winter driving which included driving safely on icy roads, getting stuck in snow and how to safely get out. Trustee Dole presented the Fire Departments Home Fire Safety checklist, which included points on how to check to see if your home is free of hazards, Space Heater safety, Kitchen safety, and Fireplace safety.

The Public Safety Committee Meeting has been moved to Wednesday February 14th, 2018 at 7:00 am at the Village Hall conference room.

Planning and Zoning- Crockett, Absent

• No action items on the agenda tonight

• The next Planning and Zoning Committee meeting is scheduled for February 27th, 2018 at 7:00 am at the conference room at Village Hall.

• Next Planning Commission meeting will be Tuesday February 13th, 2018 at 6:00 pm at the Village Board Room.

Finance: Gesky

• New Business:

• Ordinance 17-28 – An Ordinance authorizing the Execution of a Second Amendment to the Business Development Agreement between the Village of Manteno, Baumgartner’s Inc., and Curwick Construction Company related to Occupational Taxes generated from the Pizza Stone to be located at 183 North Main Street, Manteno, Illinois.

• Payment of bills in the amount of $184,780.28 ( includes TIF#1 bills of $141,860.97 and TIF#3 bills $53.50)

• Bills authorized and Paid between Board Cycle: $36,670.68

• The next Finance meeting will be held Wednesday February 14th, 2018 at 7:00 am at the Village Hall Conference Room.

Mayor Nugent read the items to be included on the Consent Agenda:

Motion by Gesky, seconded by Dole, to approve a single roll call vote on the question of passage of agenda items. Motion Approved 4-0 with Nugent voting yes (Phillips, Crockett and Martin absent)

Motion by Dole, seconded by Boyce, to approve by an omnibus vote those ordinances, resolutions, motions and orders contained on the consent agenda.

Comments:

Trustee Boyce: Trustee Boyce acknowledged Jim Hanley and the “big week ahead” in snow removal. Mr. Hanley asked that residents remove parked cars in the street after 24 hours to assist in the snow plowing. Mr. Hanley also asked residents not to plow/blow their driveway snow out into the street, but push up on the sides of the drive. The Mayor added that cars that are parked in the streets and sitting for 3-4 days may get a request from the police department to move their vehicle so the Village can safely complete the plowing of the streets.

Trustee Dole: Great respect for the Public work guys for the work they do at this time of year and when we get a lot of snow in the Village.

Trustee Gesky: Trustee Gesky had nothing.

President Nugent: No further comments

Motion by Dole, seconded by Gesky, to adjourn the meeting at 7:26 pm. Motion approved 4-0 with Mayor Nugent voting YES (Phillips Crockett and Martin absent)
