Analysis: Kankakee pays $7.68 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Kankakee Firefighters' Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 88.5 percent of the $3,042,596 the Kankakee Firefighters' Pension Fund brought in last year, or $7.68 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Kankakee Times analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Kankakee contributed $2,693,520 to the fund, which saw a $155,931 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $350,502, or 11.5 percent, in 2016.
