Village of Grant Park Board met March 5.

Roll call was taken, all members present
*Motion to approve minutes from previous 2/18/18 meeting
Motion: Morgan 2nd: Morse Motion carried 6-0
Public Comments: Vern Morganroth asked if a decision has been made concerning Aqua purchasing the Sewer plant. Pres Roth stated that no decision has been made, and could be addressed in April. Conversation turned to water run-off in his yard from a nearby field, and asked if a solution could be looked in to. Mr. Henson will stop by his residence.
*Motion to approve bills for payment: (3/05/18) General Fund $37,075.15, Sewer Fund $1,726.21, Festival Fund $1,993.59, T.I.F. Fund $1,275.00, (2/24/18 Payroll $17,103.35
Motion: Dickson 2nd: Morgan Motion Carried 4-0-2 Morse & Weidl abstaining
Departmental Reports:
Clerk Dillman: will attend County Clerks Assn. meeting 3/08/18
Streets & Alleys, Veldhuizen: no report
Finance, Dickson: All departmental budget requests are in, working on new budget for upcoming year
Sewer & Garbage, Morgan: no report other than sewer plant is doing fine with the recent rains
Building & Grounds, Morse: Thanked all who assisted with the Cabin Fever Reliever which showed a
profit of $1,254.00
Ordinance & Insurance, Weidl: no report
Law Enforcement, Coats:
*Motion to approve change to the Police Benefit policy where full time officers can donate unused leave time to another officer in need due to an extended leave (ref. Section G, Page 4)
Motion: Dickson 2nd: Veldhuizen Motion Carried 6-0
Pres. Roth: Asked the Board for assistance in a location for the Girl Scouts proposed “mini library box” as to a location. After some discussion, an area on the west side of the Community Center was chosen. Pres Roth also asked for the Board to look in to replacing the Village signs at the entrance to town along Route 1/17. This will be looked into, with a proposal.
