Iroquois County Community Unit School District 9 Board met Feb. 28.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

Present: James Bruns, President, called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.

In attendance were Bob Burd, Brittany Cluver, Gina Greene, Rusty Maulding, and Kirk McTaggart.

Also present was: James Bunting.

Absent: Crystal Blair.

It was moved by Kirk McTaggart and second by Bob Burd to appoint Mr. Bunting as secretary pro tem, due to Crystal Blair’s absence. Roll call. 6

Aye. Nay: 0. Motion carried.

Guests And Public Comments: No public comments were offered.

New Business:

Consideration and action to approve a contractor to clean Nettie Davis School from flood water damages. Mr. Bunting presented the estimates from Servpro and Service Master. Servpro’s estimate had three options. Option one and two detach counters and sinks, remove paneling, dry, pressure wash and disinfect the structure at a cost of $265,000.00 and $220,000.00. Option three would leave counters and paneling, dry clean and disinfect structure at a cost of $190,000.00. An additional cost of $35,000.00 for content storage. Service Master’s proposal would clean, dry, and disinfect the structure and the content. The proposal is contingent on us finding 15 volunteers to work with them for 15 days, Service Master will train the volunteers. Service Master would be involved throughout the whole process. The cost is not to exceed $125,000.00. There was some discussion by Mr. Maulding to do nothing and save the money for a more permanent solution. Mr. Bruns stated he was not ready to make a decision on a more permanent solution tonight.

It was moved by Brittany Cluver and second by Gina Greene to approve Service Master to clean, dry and disinfect Nettie Davis School for a price not to exceed $125,000.00, subject to the provision of volunteers within the contract. Roll call. Aye: 6. Nay: 0. Motion carried.

Adjournment: It was moved by Bob Burd and second by Brittany Cluver to adjourn the meeting at 6:14 p.m. Roll call. Aye: 6. Nay: 0. Motion carried.
