Report: Donovan spent $9,636 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Donovan Community Unit School District 3 is up 11 percent from five years ago, according to a Kankakee Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Iroquois County school district spent $8,674 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,636 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 395 to 327.

Donovan's spending in 2016-17 was 26 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
