Bradley FD responds to 109 fires in 2017

Bradley Fire Department responded to 343 calls in 2017 - 10.9 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Bradley included 109 fires - 77 structure fires, six vehicle fires and 26 other fires.

In all, the department saw $33,850 in fire loss - or about $311 per fire.

The department also received 234 false calls, including seven malicious calls and 227 other false calls.

The Bradley Firefighters Pension Fund, which has seven active employees and two retired or inactive employees, was $31,222 in debt as of April 2016, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $217 for every fire in 2016.
