St 1 responded to 442 calls in 2017 - 9.1 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in ST 1 included 165 fires - 88 structure fires, 21 vehicle fires and 56 other fires. The fire department also responded to seven calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $806,077 in fire loss - or about $4,885 per fire.

The department also received 270 false calls, including seven malicious calls and 263 other false calls.
