City of Kankakee City Council met July 2.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

Mayor Wells-Armstrong: I would like to call the meeting to order. We will start with a prayer by Rev. Scott, Scott Hensley and go on to the pledge of allegiance by the Chief Schuldt and Family.

Public Comments

Mayor Wells-Armstrong: We have Wanda and Larry Fullmer, Robert S. Ellington Snipes and Al Strickland.

Mr. & Mrs. Fullmer: Update on the opening of Auto Lab located in the 1st Ward at 382 North Schuyler. Over $400,000.00 has been invested in the building. It is a high efficiency, green building. Several staff members have been hired with plans to hire more and help the City grow.

Robert Snipes: Suggestion from resident with concerns of vehicle sticker penalty being the same the amount of the sticker.

Al Strickland: Representing a Water Purification Certified minority owned business located in the County that specializes in removing tires and water bottles from the river, as well as, address concerns of Lead and also ready to offer demonstrations. Looking to relocate to the City of Kankakee with incentives.

Mayor Wells-Armstrong:Roll Call of City Council.

Clerk Dumas: Present: Tetter, Brown, Curtis, Baron, Lewis, Tall, Swanson, Crawford, Osenga, O’Brien, Gall and Malone, Marshall Absent: Faford, Kennedy (12) Present (2) Absent

Mayor Wells-Armstrong:Department Heads.

Clerk Dumas: Present: Dumas, Schuldt, Kubal, McGrath, Schiel, Piggush, Bertrand, Schmitz. Thank you.
