Central Community Unit School District 4 students suspended 33 times in a single school year

Central Community Unit School District 4 reported 33 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 33 students during the year. That equates to 3 percent of the 1,091 students enrolled.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for violence without physical injury. The category includes 13 incidents. There were one incidents of tobacco. For 11 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for violence without physical injury. The category includes 15 incidents. There were one incidents of alcohol. For nine incidents, students were suspended for 3-5 days.
