Aunt Marthas issued the following announcement on Aug. 24.
Aunt Martha’s Health & Wellness participated in the 89th Annual Bud Billiken Parade on August 11th, 2018 at Washington Park. The parade was sponsored by the Chicago Defender Charities and featured appearances by political leaders such as Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, local organizations and Grand Marshall, Vic Mensa.
Aunt Martha’s was proud to participate for the first time in the Bud Billiken parade. Members from the Aunt Martha’s Health Outreach team helped families schedule Back-to-School Physicals at the Wellness Pavilion following the parade. Approximately, 60 members of the Aunt Martha’s team walked in the parade including CEO Raul Garza, Senior Leadership, Foster Care, the Children’s Reception Center, youth in care, and Aunt Martha’s Junior Advisory Board, who recommended Aunt Martha’s participation in the parade.
“This year was our first time at the parade. It was an honor for Aunt Martha’s to be involved at an event that demonstrates our core values to serve, unite, and improve the community, said CEO Raul Garza. “We are already looking forward to next year. It was a great time for all of us,” he added.
