The Office of Kankakee County Sheriff issued the following announcement on Sept. 12.
MISSING: The Kankakee County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 62 year old, Daniel A. Jarski. Jarski was last seen on Sunday, September 9, 2018 in rural Grant Park. His van was located in Hunting Area 6 off of IL Rt 113 in Will County (just west of Kankakee County, near the Kankakee River). Anyone with any information regarding his whereabouts is encouraged to contact your local police department or Detective Brady Bertrand at (815) 802-7159.
The Jarski family has organized a Search Party for today (9/13) starting at 8am to search the area along the Kankakee River. They are asking those willing to volunteer to meet at the Class C Horseback Campground (there is a boat-launch nearby, just east of Warner Bridge Road {7000 West Road} and IL Rt 113). They are asking volunteers to wear or bring bright clothing or vests, in addition to a supply of water, food, bug spray, sunscreen, sturdy shoes, and any other supplies that you may need. They are suggesting people wear long sleeves due to ticks and poison ivy. They are utilizing the parking area for staging and to assign zones to volunteers as they arrive.
