The office of Kankakee County Health Department issued the following announcement on Sept. 22.
PSA ALERT! The risk of tick-borne illness is still out there, even as we head into the fall. A Kankakee resident recently tested positive for Heartland Virus, the first reported case in Illinois. Please see below for more information and tips to avoid tick bites.
