KANKAKEE VALLEY THEATRE ASSOCIATION: Meet the characters of KVTA’S Little Woman Musical!
Kankakee Valley Theatre Association issued the following announcement on Jan. 15.
Introducing Marmee March! Saintly matriarch “Marmee” March is the picture of the perfect mother–loving, patient, and always a step ahead of her girls. Despite the challenges of being a single parent during the Civil War, Marmee’s strength and conviction never falters.
She is calm and collected, deeply moral, and teaches her girls to see the proper way to behave and the value of their poverty. Although she may not be able to afford to be elegantly dressed, she was a noble looking women.
Her four daughters went to her first in times of despair, and she willingly helped them with open arms and a thankful heart. She was always there to listen to her girls' problems, and they knew that they could tell her anything. Marmee often allowed the girls to learn on their own, when she knew the consequences would be harmless. She was there to explain herself and make sure the girls understood why she did things the way she did.
Marmee was a wise, gentle woman. She was a great listener and would sacrifice her own comfort for the good of others. She loved her children and would do anything she could to help them.
Gina Vitucci portrays Marmee March beautifully and her heartfelt vocals and story will bring you to tears. Do not miss meeting this gentle, loving, strong character in KVTA’s Little Women the Musical. Get your tickets today at https://www.kvta.org/littlewomen
