City of Kankakee issued the following announcement on Jan. 29.
Allied Waste will not be picking up garbage in Kankakee on Wednesday due to the forecasted weather of sub-zero highs for the day. There will be a late start service on Thursday. They will work on Saturday to restore service back to original schedules.
