Analysis: Crescent-Iroquois administrators rank 313rd in state for average pay

Administrators in Crescent-Iroquois Community Unit School District 249 earn an average of $105,000 per year, ranking 313rd out of 864 districts in the state, according to a Kankakee Times analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2018 average is 0.5% lower than in 2014 and 30.8% higher than in 2009. District administrators make 2.1% less than the state average of $107,279.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Iroquois County school district enrolled 81 students in 2017-18. There is an average of 81 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 181 to 1.
