Central Community Unit School District 4 Board of Education met Sept. 23.

The meeting of the Board of Education was called to order by President Paul Swanson at 6:14 p.m. for the purpose of Executive Session. The Budget Hearing for Fiscal Year 2019 was conducted at 6:15 P.M. followed by the Regular Meeting at 7:09 P.M. The meetings were held at the Board Office in Ashkum, Illinois.

Roll Call

Upon the call of roll, the following members answered present: Members Swanson, Seibring, Beherns, and Hack. Absent: Members Meier, Shule and Luhrsen.

Others in Attendance

Also in attendance were Superintendent Evans and Administrators Marc Shaner, Andrea Lemenager, and Brian Spooner. Visitors in attendance were: Rebecca Swigert-Fenton.

Executive Session

Executive Session began at 6:14 P.M. for the purpose of discussing the Employment or Dismissal of Personnel, and Student Discipline pursuant to the authority granted by 5ILCS 120/2(C)(1) and (9) of the Open Meetings Act.

FY 2020 Budget Hearing

A motion to come out of Executive Session for the FY 2020 Budget Hearing was made at 6:44 P.M. by Member Seibring and seconded by Member Hack.

Motion passed without dissent.

Return to Open Session

A motion to close the FY 2020 Budget Hearing and return to open session at 7:08 p.m. was made by Member Seibring and seconded by Member Hack.

Motion passed without dissent.

Approve Agenda

A motion to approve the agenda with the following changes: remove Item B of the Consent Agenda – Review and Approval of Financial Reports; and remove Item B under New Business – Presentation of FY 19 Audit was made by Member Hack and seconded by Member Seibring.

Motion passed without dissent.

Operations and Maintenance Fund

A motion to adopt the resolution to pay utilities and custodial salaries/benefits from the Operations and Maintenance Fund was made by Member Seibring and seconded by Member Beherns.

Annual Review Report

A motion to approve the Annual Review Report was made by Member Beherns and seconded by Member Hack.

Student Discipline

A motion to approve the student discipline report as presented was made by Member Seibring and seconded by Member Hack.

Resignations

A motion to accept the resignations of Deborah Emling, as Nash speech coach, and Amy Rohlwing, as kindergarten teacher at Chebanse Elementary, was made by Member Beherns and seconded by Member Hack.

Motion passed without dissent.

Recommendations to Hire

A motion to approve the recommendation to hire Elizabeth Benoit and Cathy Dagnan as assistant speech coaches at Nash; Jake Temple, as Nash wrestling coach; Rebecca Fenton as 6th grade girls' basketball coach; Jessie Behrends as volunteer girls' basketball coach at Nash; and Brandon Schoon as 6th grade boys' basketball coach at Nash; was made by Member Seibring and seconded by Member Hack.

Nay: None

Absent: Shule, Luhrsen, and Meier
