Illinois State House District 79 issued the following announcement on Nov. 8
State Representative Lindsay Parkhurst (R – Kankakee) today announced the 79th District office is partnering with the Marine Corps Reserve for the Toys for Tots program for a third year.
“Our goal is to ensure every child in the 79th District can enjoy a Merry Christmas and have Happy Holidays. Please look for a donation box and donate a new, unwrapped toy for a child in need” Rep. Parkhurst said.
Rep. Parkhurst has a collection box in the 79th District Office at 370 E Court Street in Kankakee. The final day to drop of new, unwrapped toys is December 10th. Additional drop off locations can be found on the Kankakee Toys for Tots website at kankakee-il.toysfortots.org.
Online Registration to receive toys will be open until December 1st. For questions relating to the Toys for Tots program including registration and distribution, please contact the Kankakee Coordinating Officer, Gail Oliver at 815-277-9229. The 79th District office can be reached at 815-523-7779.
