Village of Manteno Village Board met July 6.

The meeting was called to order by President Timothy O. Nugent. Roll call followed the Pledge of Allegiance, led by President Nugent.

Motion by Dole, seconded by Martin to waive the reading of the minutes and approve the Regular Board Meeting minutes of June 15, 2020 as submitted by the Village Clerk.

Motion approved: 5-0 Crockett absent

Public Participation: Zoom meeting set up online for public participation due to Covid-19 restrictions

Reports of Village Officials:

Village President’s Report- Timothy Nugent

• Chief Swinford recognized Lieutenant Brian Lockwood for 25 years of service to the Manteno Police Department

• The Village has opened the Legacy splash pad and the fountain on the Square on Second. Operating hours will be 10:00 am to 10:00 pm. There will be a park ranger at the fountain monitoring activities and available for questions.

• The bounce pillow and zip line will remain closed until further notice

• Renovation on First Street will be finished by mid-week.

Village Administrator’s Report- Chris LaRocque

Public Works and Utilities- Trustee Boyce

Parks and Recreation- Trustee Martin

• Our project on First Street is tracking to finish up two weeks ahead of schedule

Next Parks and Recreation meeting Wed 7-15-20 7:00 pm Village Board Room

Public Safety and Health- Trustee Dole

• Cooling Centers at Leo Hassett will be available to the public. The Police department can do a wellness check on anyone who does not have air conditioning during this hot weather. They can also give a ride to the cooling center at Leo Hassett. Reminder to please check on your elderly neighbors during this hot weather.

Planning and Zoning- Trustee Crockett - absent

The next Planning and Zoning Committee meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 7-28-20 at 7:00 am at the Village Hall Conference Room

The next Planning Commission meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 07-14-20 at 6:00 pm at the Village Board Room

Finance- Trustee Gesky

• Payment of bills $127,325.72 includes TIF #1- $40,968.69 and TIF #3 $0

• Bills authorized and Paid between Board Cycle: $35,683.70

The next Finance meeting will be held Wednesday 07-08-20 at 7:00 am at the Village Hall Conference Room.

General Government- Trustee Phillips

Nothing on agenda tonight

Motion by Gesky seconded by Phillips, to approve the payment of the bills in the amount of $127,325.72 (includes TIF #1- $40,968.69 and TIF #3 $0).

Motion Approved 5-0 Crockett absent

Trustee Boyce: No comment

Trustee Martin: No comment

Trustee Dole: Thank you Lt. Lockwood! Thanks for bringing your family.

Trustee Gesky: Same as Diane

Trustee Phillips: Thumbs Up! Good Job

Mayor Nugent: We have arranged for a park ranger at the fountain- Will work intermittent hours. There to make sure the rules are followed.

Motion by Dole to adjourn the meeting at 7:18 pm, seconded by Martin
