City of Momence Police Department Committee met July 20.

The Police Department Committee meeting was held in the Council Chambers at 29 North Dixie Highway, Momence.
Present were: Chairman Alderman Rehmer and committee members Aldermen Temple and Salomone. Alderman Clark was absent. Also, present were Aldermen Carbonaro, Metz, Cook and Cope.
1. Discuss questions from July 6th Meeting – Thursday 12PM, NAACP meeting at Sheriff Department. Mr. Pace will be in charge, will be live on You Tube. There will be more information on the 8 can’t wait given on this day. Alderman Salomone asked how Momence is aligned/stands with the 8 can’t wait. Chief stated we follow the Calea Standard. If we are in compliance with the State, the community needs to know that we are compliant.
Momence officers do not have body cams, but we do have car cameras. Alderman Rehmer and Salomone will go to the station to meet with Chief Brucato to look at the Calea Standard. They will come up with a statement after to be delivered.
Discuss new full-time officer – Chief is looking for a replacement for Officer Stetson. This will be a full-time officer position, looking for permission for interviewing. The new officer will be at the next meeting. He will need to be given permission to interview, that will be given during council meeting.
