County of Iroquois issued the following announcement on Sept. 17.
The Iroquois County Sheriff’s Office is now accepting applications for the position of Correctional Officer. The Correctional Officers are responsible for the daily supervision and care of prisoners brought to and/or detained at the Iroquois County Jail. Applicants must be a high school graduate or have a certification of equivalency; be a resident of Iroquois County at the time of employment, submit to a criminal background and must have basic computer skills. Starting salary is $37,773. Benefits include health insurance and retirement among others. The applicant will be expected to successfully complete mandatory training. Requires weekends, holidays and shift work. Applicant must meet additional requirements. Applications can be picked up at the Iroquois County Jail/Sheriff’s Office located at 550 South Tenth in Watseka, Illinois. Resumes/applications are to be returned to the Iroquois County Sheriff’s Office by October 19th, 2020 at 4:00 P.M.
