Momence Fire Protection District responded to 171 calls in 2018 - 19.6 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Momence included 69 fires - 47 structure fires, three vehicle fires and 19 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $810,000 in fire loss - or about $11,739 per fire.

The department also received 101 false calls.

The Momence Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $369,510 in 2018.
