Gilman Fire Protection Department responded to 25 calls in 2018 - 31.6 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Gilman included 18 fires - 12 structure fires, one vehicle fire and five other fires.

In all, the department saw $456,000 in fire loss - or about $25,333 per fire.

The department also received seven false calls.

The Gilman Fire Protection Department had an annual budget of $99,747 in 2018.
