KANKAKEE COUNTY SHERIFF: Several Fugitives & Multiple Weapons Recovered in Yesterday's Joint-Operation with U.S. Marshal's Service

Police 04

Kankakee County Sheriff issued the following announcement on Nov. 14.

Sheriff’s deputies were assisted by the United States Marshal’s Service Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force of Central IL and Parole Agents from the IL Department of Corrections yesterday during several warrant executions, predominately in the Pembroke Township area. During the joint-operation, officers located 9 firearms, two of which were identified as stolen, along with many rounds of ammunition.

Officers located and arrested, 28 year-old Brandon J. Brewer, of Pembroke Township, on an outstanding arrest warrant for the Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm from a Vehicle, the Reckless Discharge of a Firearm and the Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, in addition to a warrant from the IL Dept. of Corrections. He remains incarcerated with a $100,000 bond.

In addition to Brewer’s arrest, deputies and agents located 28 year-old, Robert J. Bowsky, of Green Bay, WI, who was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant out of Wisconsin for First-Degree Homicide and two counts of the Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Bowsky remains in the Jerome Combs Detention Center while he awaits an extradition hearing on his No Bond warrant.

“The tireless efforts exhibited by all of the officers and agents involved in these operations is appreciated,” said Kankakee County Sheriff Mike Downey. “I sincerely appreciate the willingness of the US Marshal’s Service to partner with our deputies to remove these extremely dangerous individuals from our streets, along with the associated weapons and ammunition located as a result. It’s another example of sharing resources to save taxpayer money. We continue to address concerns of the Pembroke community involving ‘Shots Fired’ calls occurring at all hours of the day/night.”

Sheriff’s detectives announced that additional arrests are likely as similar joint-operations are being planned in the near future.
