Village of Manteno Village Board Met Dec. 21.

The meeting was called to order by President Timothy O. Nugent. Roll call followed the Pledge of Allegiance, led by President Nugent.

Motion by Martin, seconded by Dole, to waive the reading of the minutes and approve the Regular Board Meeting minutes and the Truth in Taxation Public Meeting minutes of December 7, 2020, as presented by the Clerk.

Motion approved: 5-0 Crockett abstained

Reports of Village Officials:

Village President’s Report: Timothy Nugent

• Complimented Jim Hanley and his Public Works crew on the downtown decorations and lighting. They worked hard and the downtown shows it.

• Jim Hanley gave tips for snowplowing if we receive any accumulative snow fall over the next couple of weeks. Remember to park on the even side (house numbers) of the street on even number days and park on the odd side (house numbers) of the street on odd number days so the plows can do their job clearing the streets.

• The Ice Skating rink will be opened if the weather drops below zero for a couple of days. Information on the skating rink will be posted on Facebook and the electronic sign outside of Village Hall.

• This is our last meeting of 2020, so I wish everyone Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Be safe and have a quiet holiday by obeying the rules this year.

Trustee Dole gave winter and fire safety tips on driving in winter weather, checking the batteries in your Carbon Monoxide detectors in the house, fireplace checks, putting out candles, checking on your older neighbors, always use a designated driver if you have any alcoholic drinks while out celebrating the holidays. Planning and Zoning- Trustee Crockett

The next Planning and Zoning Committee meeting is scheduled for tomorrow Tuesday December 22, 2020 at 7:00 am at the Village Hall Conference Room.

The next Planning Commission meeting is scheduled for Tuesday January 12th, 2021 at 6:00 pm at the Village Board Room.

• Bills authorized and Paid between Board Cycle: $0

The next Finance meeting will be held Wednesday January 13, 2021 at 7:00 am at the Village Hall Conference Room.

• Consideration RE: A motion to approve the 2021 Village Schedule of Meetings and the 2021 Village Holiday Schedule

Mayor Nugent read the items to be included on the Consent Agenda. The consent agenda is as follows:

Motion by Phillips seconded by Gesky, to approve a single roll call vote on the question of passage of agenda items. Motion Approved 6-0

Motion by Boyce seconded by Dole to approve by an omnibus vote those ordinances, resolutions, motions and orders contained on the consent agenda.

Motion Approved 6-0
