The meeting was called to order by President Timothy O. Nugent. Roll call followed the Pledge of Allegiance, led by President Nugent.
Motion by Martin, seconded by Gesky, to waive the reading of the minutes and approve the Regular Board Meeting minutes of December 21, 2020, as presented by the Clerk.
Motion approved: 6-0

• Wish everyone a Happy New Year
• Announcement from the Manteno American Legion (Dan Gerber and JoJo Sayson) that celebration and presentation of posthumous awards for Raymond Olley that was originally planned for January 16th has been postponed till spring of 2021. Public Safety and Health- Trustee Dole

• Trustee Dole gave winter driving and fire safety tips for your home.
• Reminder: Manteno does not allow anyone on the ponds within the Village as it is not safe for skating or walking across because we can never be sure of the thickness of the ice, as it can be thick in one spot, and thinner in another.
• Thanks to the Village of Manteno residents for keeping the wreath at the fire department all red during the holidays. That means we had no house or holiday related fires during the holiday season.

The next Planning and Zoning Committee meeting is scheduled for tomorrow Tuesday 1-26-2021 at 7:00 am at the Village Hall Conference Room.
The next Planning Commission meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 1-12-2021 at 6:00 pm at the Village Board Room.

Mayor Nugent asked the Board for approval for payment of the bills in the amount of $20,200.44. Motion made by Martin and seconded by Gesky to approve the payment of the bills in the amount of $20,200.44. Motion Approved 6-0
Comments:
Mayor Nugent: Manteno had to cancel a lot of events in 2020 due to the COVID restrictions but the Village also saw a lot of activity with the addition of People’s Bank, National Bank and O’Reilly’s Auto Parts, we remodeled First Street with new lights and the addition of Main Street Pharmacy, entered into façade agreements and waived liquor license fees for 2020 to help our business during a difficult business year. Our Public Works helped business’s set up for outside seating, we approved new subdivision streets, extended paths in town, and had 22 single family home permits. We did a lot despite COVID 19.
