Q2 2020 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Iroquois County?

There were seven offenders released on parole during the second quarter of 2020 that live in Iroquois County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Kankakee Times.

The data shows that four men and three women were released in Iroquois County. The median age of the parolees was 39. The youngest parolee was a 23-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2018, and the oldest was a 53-year-old man sentenced for a financial crime or fraud in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Derek J. Burton. He was convicted of a financial crime or fraud in 2017 when he was 49 years old. He is now 53.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the second quarter of 2020 in each Iroquois County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
