Gilman Area Public Library District Board Met Feb. 11.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The Gilman-Danforth District Library Board of Trustees met in regular session at 6:30 p.m. Board members present were President Bill Stahlschmidt, Jill Cummings, Cindy Guttendorf, Jan Villwock, Jan Elliott, Judy Pree. Community member Alissa Haase was present. Director Renee Wellborn and Bookkeeper Beth Zirkle were also present. There were no public comments.

The minutes of the January 14, 2021 meeting were approved as read. After areview of the Treasurer’s report, Judy motioned to approve the Treasurer’s report andJan E. seconded the motion. A voice vote carried.

The credit card bills were as follows: telephone $81.72, supplies $219.98, building supplies $81.38, postage $3.40, books and publications $319.43, audio/visual $43.78. Jan V. motioned to pay the bills and Jill seconded the motion. A roll call vote carried.

Sharon Newman resigned last week and Alissa Haase was appointed to take her place on the board. The bonding issue was discussed.

Orkin had been at the Library and done their annual inspection. They inquired if we were interested in having monthly preventative visits. They would charge us $1,000 a year for the monthly visits. Some mice were found outside but none inside. Empty mud dauber nests were found outside but we may be able to remove these ourselves. We will be making no changes for now.

In the Director’s Report the men’s urinal had been leaking and was fixed by the plumbers. There have been furnace issues and the work room has been freezing cold.A crack was found in the tubing and that was fixed today by Jason Scharp’s workman.There is a part ordered. The temperature on the fireplace has been lowered. Theyhave been keeping the thermostat at 70 degrees. A Director’s meeting will be held nextWednesday; they have not had this type of meeting in a long time. Programs are one of the items on the agenda. A mowing bid notice was sent to The Gilman Star this week. Renee will be taking vacation from May 3 – May 7. High School student Ellie Schunke started work at the Library last week and is doing very well.

With no further business to be discussed, Jan E. motioned to adjourn the meeting and Judy seconded the motion. A voice vote carried. The meeting adjourned at 7:07 p.m.
