City of Kankakee issued the following announcement on May 13.
Congratulations to the following officers were promoted to their respective ranks effective 05/12/21.
Avery Ivey (in uniform) was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. Avery is a 25 year veteran and has served in numerous capacities at the police department. Most recently Avery served as a sergeant on 1st shift.
Kris Lombardi (left of Ivey) was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Kris is a 19 year veteran and has served in numerous capacities at Kankakee Police Department. Most recently Kris served as a Detective.
Logan Andersen (left of Lombardi) was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Logan is a 12 year veteran and has served in the Patrol Division and most recently the Investigations Division.
Zachary Johnston (right of Ivey) was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Zach is a 22 year veteran of the Kankakee Police Department and has served in numerous capacities at the Kankakee Police Department. Most recently Zach served as a detective assigned to the Tri-County Auto Theft Task Force.
Jason Burse (right of Johnston) was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Jason is a 9 year veteran and has served in the Patrol Division and most recently with the Kankakee Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group (KAMEG).
