City of Momence City Council met July 6.

The City Council Meeting of the City of Momence was held in the Council Chambers at 29 North Dixie Highway, Momence.
ROLL CALL
Roll was called by the Clerk with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Huddleston, Clark, Starkey, Cook, Temple and Strunk.
APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES
Alderman Salomone made motion to approve the minutes of the, June 21, 2021. Alderman Temple seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Huddleston, Clark, Starkey, Temple and Strunk voting yes. Alderman Cook passed.
APPROVAL OF THE BILLS
The bills were discussed during committee meeting. Alderman Salomone made motion to approve the bills for payment. Alderman Strunk seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Huddleston, Clark, Starkey, Cook, Temple and Strunk voting yes.
CITIZENS FORUM –
Jane Johnson Mainstreet - why downtown is important
OLD BUSINESS – Alderman Salomone – hasn’t heard back from Baxter Woodman on water rates. We are currently waiting on the ordinance, should have by the next meeting. Public meeting during the first meeting in August.
ALDERMANIC REPORTS – Alderman Salomone appropriation hearing this evening, will be voted on at next meeting. BF meeting July 19, 7:15PM.
AEP Energy Electric – inflation affecting the market. Alderman Salomone made a motion to approve a 36-month plan (.04440 per KW). Alderman Starkey seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Huddleston, Clark, Starkey, Cook, Temple and Strunk voting yes.
Alderman Huddleston – appreciation for Officer Raul for replacing a young boy’s bike. The community support is great! Also, wanted to mention Jim Rowe September 1, Island Park for justice.
Alderman Strunk – modifying pot ordinance
Treasurer report – working on fiscal report for last year
Department Heads –
MAYORAL REPORT – requested executive session not to come out to do business. Alderman Salomone made motion to move into executive session. Alderman Cook seconded the motion with Alderman Salomone, Carbonaro, Huddleston, Clark, Starkey, Cook, Temple and Strunk voting yes.
