Village of Chebanse Village Board met Aug. 16.
Here are the minutes provided by the board:
In the absence of Mayor Mathy, Mayor Pro-tem Adam Beherns called the regular Village Board meeting to order at 7:00 pm on August 16, 2021 and announced that Kathy Washington from the Advocate would be taking notes and the Village would be taping.
The following Trustees were present: Trustee Beherns, Trustee Kohler, Trustee Odle and Trustee Perzee. Trustee Randles, Trustee Snyder and Mayor Mathy were absent. Also present were Attorney Hiatt, James Smith from Maintenance and Clerk Pasel.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES: A motion was made by Trustee Perzee and a second by Trustee Kohler to approve the July 19, 2021 Board meeting minutes. Vote:

UNFINISHED BUSINESS
DE-ANNEX ROADS: Tabled
COURT ADJUDICATION: Attorney Hiatt informed the Board that Watseka has an Adjudication program that we can be a part of. He is a hearing officer for Watseka so he could not hear cases that concern Chebanse. He is willing to resign as an officer and then would be able to represent the Village of Chebanse, if we chose to be apart of the program. Attorney Hiatt’s fee would be divided among the number of cases being heard for that session. The Village would need to approve an Adjudication program and ordinance. The ordinance will be placed on the September 20, 2021 agenda.
REPORTS OF COMMITTEES: NONE
REPORTS OF VILLAGE OFFICERS: Clerk Pasel stated that the new Census numbers are available. They will not become official until the Secretary of State’s Office has approved the figures. Most municipalities have seen a decrease in population which will affect our income from the State.
