Village of Grant Park Board met Oct. 18.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

6:30PM Meeting called to order/ Pledge

Roll call was taken, all present except Ms. Bruni (arriving at 6:58) and Ms. Veldhuizen

*Motion to approve minutes from previous 10/04/21 meeting

       Motion: Morgan      2nd: Raloff       Motion Carried 4-0-0

Public Comments:

  Bob Duff representing Hilgert Court asked about 50% cost sharing on sidewalk replacement. Mr. Morgan confirmed the program. He gave the estimate to Pres. Hawkins. Also asked on fixing the water retention on the intersection by Heldt Park to be fixed. It was mentioned it is being looked in to.

Ben Detloff gave information to the Board on a possible snowplow truck

Alex Meyer, on the agenda did not appear

*Motion to approve Bills for Payment : <10/18/21 General Fund $15,414.61, M.F.T. $8400.00, Fest Account $9,211.93, T.I.F. $10,480.00, Payroll <10/02/21 $14,297.17, Stipend $1,275.00

      Motion: Morgan      2nd: Coats        Motion Carried 4-0-0

Departmental Reports: 

Clerk Dillman swore in Raymond T. Navratil part time officer at $18.59/hour

Streets & Alleys, Coats: 

*Motion to hire George Hale at $15.00/hr part time as needed

      Motion: Coats     2nd: Morgan       Motion Carried 4-0-0

Reported they will be looking at alley repair needs in town, salt boxes are to ship 10/29/21, looking into a concrete grinder for sidewalks

Finance, Morgan: will have a committee meeting 11/01/21 at 5:30PM

Sewer & Garbage, Veldhuizen: absent, no report

Building & Grounds, Bruni: no report, all receipts not in for fest report, yet

Ordinance & Insurance, Raloff:

*Motion to waive first reading Ordinance O-10-21-1 sale of surplus property, Hot Box

      Motion: Raloff      2nd: Coats       Motion Carried 5-0-0

*Motion to adopt Ordinance O-10-21-1 sale of surplus property, Hot Box

       Motion: Raloff       2nd: Coats      Motion Carried 5-0-0

Law Enforcement, Wiedl: no report

Pres Hawkins: appointed Bernard Detloff as Street and Alley Commissioner at $42,000 annually

       Voice vote approved 5-0-0

*Motion: Under emergency declaration: Motion to enter an agreement to purchase a 2022 International HV 507 4x2 dump truck w/ plow at $161,649.00. Will look into lease/purchase options
