City of Watseka Water Waste-Water Committee met March 15

Meet

City of Watseka Water Waste-Water Committee met March 15.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

PRESENT: Aldermen Cahoe, Marcier, Garfield, Barragree, Miller, Alderwomen Ulfers and Musk,  and Mayor Allhands

ABSENT: Alderman Rushbrook

GUEST: Keith Mullholland with Robinson Engineering

Alderman Cahoe opened the meeting at 6:42 pm. Water Superintendent Greg Marks was absent  so Alderman Cahoe reported on the following projects along with Keith Mullholland of Robinson Engineering:

Wastewater:

Oxidation ditch project is ongoing; Keith stated Helm Mechanical is still working and has given  an additional price to fix some valves but Keith stated he thought the price was too much so  Helm will finish with the original project and these valves can be replaced with the next project.  Influent pumps are being serviced and the routine samples, testing and reporting was done.

Drinking Water:

Well 6 is temporarily out of service and Keith stated the plan has been sent to the EPA but  there has been no response yet. Keith stated the valves that were approved for well 6 a few  months ago were submitted with the response to the EPA.

Keith stated Peerless Midwest will wait till April to start with the test well because of the  weather. They believe the south side of the lake would be the best location because that will  give room for a well house that will be needed.

Routine samples, testing and reports were done for the month.

Work Report:

37 locates, 6 water meter changes, 36 water turn on/off, 2 water main repairs

Alderman Cahoe makes a motion to adjourn at 6:50 pm and Alderman Barragree seconded. Roll  call carried 8-0.
