Village of Grant Park Board of Trustees met Jan. 18

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

6:30PM Meeting called to Order/ Pledge

Roll call was taken, all present except Ms. Bruni

*Motion to approve 1/03/22 previous meeting minutes

Motion: Morgan 2nd: Raloff Motion Carried 5-0-0

No Public Comments

*Motion to approve Bills for Payment: <1/14/22 General Fund $25,358.04, TIF account $3,221.19

<1/08/22 Payroll $17,160.28, <1/11/22 Stipend, 1,275.00

Motion: Morgan 2nd: Coats Motion Carried 4-1-0 Veldhuizen no

Law Enforcement, Wiedl: no report

President Hawkins, read, and presented a Proclamation to Sgt. Whitlow highlighting his 24 year career with the Grant Park Police. Chief Frey presented him a plaque, and a custom made Police Baton. Sgt. Mark Whitlow retires 1/21/22.

Departmental Reports:

Clerk Dillman: reminded trustees that they will need to refile their Economic Interest Statement

Engineer Piggush report: New Welcome signs going out to bid soon, Walk path is progressing, one area of easement being worked on.

Streets & Alleys, Coats: spoke of 1-5year budget items they are working on, salt dogs are operational

Finance, Morgan: spoke on Mr. Flanagan’s TIF application, list of items will be reviewed

Special Tax Financial report presented, discussed

Discussion concerning the Covid Relief Fund, and areas to consider funding

Sewer & Garbage, Veldhuizen: no report

Building & Grounds, Bruni: Absent, no report

Ordinance & Insurance, Raloff: spoke of a report received from K.I.N.D., computer updates, and suggestions, will forward to our computer people to review, presented a list of required permitted items.

Pres. Hawkins: decision to not have a Christmas party, due to lack of interest

Pres. Hawkins asked board members to once again look into Covid Funds and how to distribute.

County wide Mayor meeting tomorrow night, in Grant Park, Community Center

7:13PM Motion to enter Executive Session to discuss litigation and Personnel

7:34PM returned to open session

No action taken

7:35PM Meeting Adjourned
