Illinois State Rep. Thomas M. Bennett (R-Watseka) recently shared some of his activities outside the statehouse, including chats with his constituents.
On a May 31 Facebook post, Bennett posted photos from the Run for the Wall event and a quote from District Director Claire Bossong: "What a great morning spent at the Run for the Wall event through Watseka today. Met many great people, shared stories and handshakes, and prayed for those no longer with us. Such a great organization and we were glad they came to Watseka on this beautiful day!"
On May 29, Bennet stopped at K&H and enjoyed breakfast with some of his constituents.
"Great conversation at breakfast with Joda Crabtree at K&H last week! Appreciate discussion from family to the University of Illinois, to local businesses and to State/Local Government. Lots going on!" Bennet wrote in a May 29 Facebook post.
On May 27, Bennet issued a warning to Illinois residents about baby formula scams in a news release on his website.
"With the recent nationwide shortage of baby formula, many scammers have risen up to take advantage of those searching far and wide to feed their infants. The Illinois Attorney General has issued a warning to help Illinois parents avoid falling victim to such a scam. These scams can involve swindling people out of money or providing them with an unsafe product."
"Customers are advised to research any source from which they might be considering purchasing formula. One indication of a possible scam is if the seller asks for payment in gift cards, money transfers or cryptocurrency. Other indicators include misspellings and grammatical errors, or physical addresses that appear to be parking lots or residences."
