Village of Bourbonnais Board of Trustees met Dec. 5.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

1. MEETING OPENING

Procedural: A. Call to Order at 5:15 PM by Village President Paul Schore

2. Roll Call

Procedural: A. Members present: Mayor Paul Schore, Trustee Bruce Greenlee, Trustee Rick Fischer, Trustee Randy King, Trustee Jeff Keast, and Trustee Jack Littrell. Also in attendance, Treasurer Ron Riebe, Attorney Patrick Dunn, and Administrator Mike Van Mill.  Absent: Trustee Angie Serafini

3. PUBLIC HEARING

Information, Procedural: A. ORDINANCE NO. 22-2368 - An Ordinance Levying Taxes for all Corporate Purposes for the Village of Bourbonnais, Kankakee County, Illinois for the Fiscal Year Commencing on the First Day of May 2022 and Ending on the 30th Day of April 2023

> Finance Director Tara Latz gave an overview of the Tax Levy Ordinance for tax year 2022, which is payable in 2023. The tax rate for this levy will be .4555, which is a decrease from the rate requested in the 2021 tax levy. Since a lesser tax rate is being used from the prior year, there is no increased tax effect on taxpayers.  Many homeowners should see a decrease in the amount they pay on the Village of Bourbonnais' portion of their property tax bill of anywhere between $5 to $15, depending on their home value.  The only way a taxpayer will see an increase over last year is if their home value has increased significantly.

 4. PUBLIC COMMENTS - None

Action, Procedural: A. Adjournment Time

Motion by Trustee Jeff Keast, second by Trustee Jack Littrell to adjourn the meeting at 5:17 PM.
