Q3 2022 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Kankakee County?

There were 39 offenders living in Kankakee County released on parole during the third quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Kankakee Times.

The data shows 34 men and five women were released in Kankakee County. The median age of the parolees was 33. The youngest parolee was a 19-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving one or more weapons in 2021, and the oldest was a 68-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2022.

The offender incarcerated the longest was Marcus L. Pope. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2018 when he was 25 years old. He is now 30.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
