Village of Bradley Board of Fire & Police Commissioners met May 26.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Chairman Golwitzer called the Special meeting of the Bradley Fire & Police Commission to order on Friday, May 26, 2023 at 4:30 p.m.

IN ATTENDANCE:

Chairman Golwitzer, Secretary Arrington, Commissioner Glidewell and Village Administrator Anderson.

PUBLIC COMMENT: None

NEW BUSINESS:

A motion was made by Commissioner Glidewell to enter into Executive session per 5ILCS120/2c1 to review the background investigation report, pre-employment medical exam results, polygraph exam report, psychological evaluation and the Bradley Fire Department Physical Ability exam results for firefighter candidate James Johnson. The motion was seconded by Chairman Golwitzer. Roll call (3 ayes, 0 nays). Motion carried. Executive session was entered at 4:31 p.m. The Executive session was exited at 4:43 p.m. after these reviews were completed.

After reviewing all of the pre-employment testing results, a motion was made by Commissioner Glidewell and seconded by Chairman Golwitzer to complete the hiring process for candidate James Johnson as a full-time firefighter. Roll call (3 ayes, 0 nays). Motion carried.

A motion was made by Chairman Golwitzer and seconded by Secretary Arrington to remove three unqualified firefighter candidates (Dan Hill, Landon Despot and John Bush) from the Firefighter Final Eligibility Register. These applicants applied for the position In June 2022 and they still do not have an EMT paramedic license which is a position requirement. Roll call (3 ayes, 0 nays). Motion carried.

A motion was made by Chairman Golwitzer and seconded by Commissioner Glidewell to approve extending conditional offers of employment to the two remaining firefighter candidates on the Firefighter Final Eligibility Register. Roll call (3 ayes, 0 nays). Motion carried.

The top candidate, Lucas Schejbal, was contacted and extended a conditional offer of employment contingent on successfully passing a background investigation, polygraph test, psychological examination, medical examination and the Bradley Fire Department Firefighter Physical Ability Exam. Schejbal accepted the conditional offer of employment. The next candidate, Jared Love, was contacted by Chairman Golwitzer and he declined the conditional offer of employment.

With no other business to discuss, a motion was made by Commissioner Glidewell and seconded by Secretary Arrington to adjourn the meeting. Roll Call (3 Ayes, 0 Nays). Motion Carried. Meeting adjourned at 5:01 p.m.
