Village of Manteno Board of Trustees met June 19.

Roll Call

Absent: Trustee Samuel Martin, Trustee Joel Gesky

The meeting was called to order by Village President Timothy Nugent, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Roll call of the Board was made by the Village Clerk.

Motion by Phillips seconded by Dole to waive the reading of the minutes and approve the regular Board Meeting minutes of June 5, 2023, as presented by the Clerk.

Motion approved: 4-0 Martin, Gesky absent

Public Participation: None

Reports of Village Officials:

Village President’s Report: Mayor Nugent

• Motion by Boyce, seconded by Dole to approve the request by Manteno High School to solicit Football Discount Cards door to door from July 12, 2023, through July 24, 2023. 4 Ayes, 0 Nays

Motion passed

• Mayor read thank you letter from Manteno High School for the collaboration of the Village working with the school on many levels and praise for School Resource Officer Tobeck.

• Update on recent Rockin on the Square and Golf Cart Parade by Jakob Knox

Public Safety and Health- Trustee Dole

Nothing on the agenda tonight.

• Recently three bats in Kankakee County have tested positive for rabies. Reminder for residents to call Animal Control if you find a bat or need to have a bat removed from your residence.

Contact the Kankakee County Health Department if someone has been bitten by a bat.

• Looking for something to do? Softball and baseball games are going strong at our local parks.

• Fireworks will be held on July 3, 2023, at the Manteno Sportsman Club

Planning and Zoning- Trustee Crockett

Nothing on the agenda tonight.

The next Planning and Zoning Committee meeting is scheduled for Tuesday June 27, 2023, at 7:00 am at the Village Board Room. The next Planning Commission meeting is Tuesday July 11, 2023, at 6:00 pm at the Village Board Room

• Payment of bills $727,133.80 (includes TIF #1 bills of $5.31)

• Bills authorized and paid between Board Cycle: $8,983.75

• Ordinance 23-05: An Ordinance establishing a Tax Reimbursement Account for the 2022 Tax

Year and authorizing distribution to owners of taxable homestead property within the Village of Manteno, Kankakee County, Illinois.

The next Finance meeting will be held Wednesday July 12, 2023, at 7:00 am at the Village Board Room.

1. Motion to approve payment of bills in the amount of $727,133.80 (TIF #1 Bills - $5.31)

Motion by Crockett seconded by Phillips to take a single roll call vote on the question of passage of agenda items as designated for voting purposes on the consent agenda.

Motion by Dole seconded by Boyce to approve by an omnibus vote those ordinances, resolutions, motions, and orders contained on the consent agenda.

Motion by Crockett to adjourn at 6:22 pm. Seconded by Dole
