In a bid for the District 79 Representative seat, Bobb Switzer has made healthcare reform a central focus of his campaign, pledging to provide better healthcare access to legal taxpayers and reduce the costs of life-saving treatments.
Switzer’s message, shared on social media, coincides with Breast Cancer Awareness month, highlighting the need to find a cure, prevent the disease, and make cancer treatments more affordable.
“When elected my goal is to provide better healthcare for legal taxpayers. It’s only right that you should receive the best access to healthcare without overcoming any obstacles that are preventing you from getting the necessary treatments for your health,” Switzer said on Facebook.
“This October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Every year about 10,000 Illinois residents are diagnosed with this terrible disease. It’s time that we fight to find a cure to save lives across this Country. Most important is to prevent and if necessary to detect for treatment early on. It is important that we also fight to reduce the costs of treatments and medications for patients of cancer.”
“It is not fair to bankrupt a family because of a diagnosis of this disease. These costs are unreasonable and need to lowered and more affordable. No American should have to value life over the costs of treatments. It’s about survival. That is why my plan includes supporting right to try medical treatments to become accessible immediately to save lives.”
“My plan also includes purchasing low cost medications from other countries if necessary. These are the things that we do to ease the pain on our residents and to make healthcare more affordable to save lives.”
Switzer notes his healthcare platform on his campaign website.
“HEALTHCARE: 25% of the Illinois population is on Medicare and Medicaid. Many are on this program that are not qualified for. Illinois is practicing socialized healthcare. We need to overhaul our public healthcare system. We do not need socialization and free healthcare. We need a better screening system prior to Medicare and Medicaid being provided,” Switzer said on his website.
Switzer has been an outspoken voice against the planned lithium ion car battery plant for Manteno.
Switzer raised concerns about the proposed Chinese Communist party-linked lithium-ion battery plant in Manteno, alleging “shady deals” involving local, state, and federal governments.
Switzer criticized the project’s potential ties to the Communist Party of China, citing corporate bylaws indicating the company’s compliance with Chinese regulations, and called for stricter measures regarding the presence of Chinese-owned corporations on U.S. soil, emphasizing the need to protect American values and sovereignty.
