Village of Manteno Board of Trustees met Nov. 20.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The meeting was called to order by Village President Timothy Nugent, followed by the Pledge of

Allegiance.

Roll call of the Board was made by the Village Clerk.

Motion by Martin, seconded by Phillips, to waive the reading of the minutes and approve the regular

Board Meeting minutes of November 6, 2023, and the TIF Joint Review Meeting of November 6, 2023, as presented by the Clerk.

Motion approved: 6-0

Reports of Village Officials:

Village President’s Report: Mayor Nugent

• Jakob Knox gave update on Christmas in Manteno activities for December 2, 2023 Village Administrator’s Report: Chris LaRocque

• The Property Tax Rebate program closed at 4:00 pm on October 31, 2023. The Village received 1591 applications which were approved and 57 that were denied. Letters were sent out to those who did not meet the criteria. The checks will be mailed the first week of December 2023.

Committee Reports:

Public Works- Trustee Boyce

Next Public Works meeting on Tuesday November 28, 2023, at 7:00 am Village Board Room Parks and Recreation- Trustee Martin

Nothing on the agenda tonight.

Next Parks and Recreation meeting has been cancelled. Will schedule a meeting if needed. Public Safety and Health- Trustee Dole

• Consideration RE: A motion to authorize the purchase of two (2) 2024 Ford Explorers from Taylor Ford, Manteno, IL at a cost of $45,209.00 each. This is a state bid price.

• Safety tips for traveling during the Thanksgiving holiday

Next Public Safety & Health meeting Wednesday December 13, 2023, at 7:00 am at the Village Board Room

Planning and Zoning- Trustee Crockett

Nothing on the agenda tonight.

The next Planning and Zoning Committee meeting is scheduled for Tuesday November 28, 2023, at 7:00 am at the Village Board Room. The next Planning Commission meeting for Tuesday November 21, 2023, will be at 6:00 pm and has been moved to the Manteno Elementary School.

Finance: Trustee Gesky

• Payment of bills $181,512.71 (includes TIF #3 bills of $0)

• Bills authorized and paid between Board Cycle: $0

The next Finance meeting will be held Wednesday December 13, 2023, at 7:00 am at the Village Board Room.

General Government- Trustee Phillips

Nothing on the agenda tonight.

Mayor Nugent requested to take a single roll call vote on agenda items as designated for the consent agenda and asked if there was any member of the Board who wished to vote separately on any of the agenda items. Trustee Boyce requested that the Board vote separately on the purchase of the Ford Explorers, designated under Trustee Dole. Mayor Nugent directed that the Board would vote individually on the two agenda action items.

Motion by Crockett to authorize the purchase of two (2) 2024 Ford Explorers from Taylor Ford, Manteno, IL at a cost of $45,209.00 each. Seconded by Gesky. Motion passed 5-0 Boyce abstained

Motion by Dole to approve payment of bills in the amount of $181,512.71, which includes $0 in TIF #3. Seconded by Gesky. Motion passed 6-0

Motion by Boyce to adjourn at 7:00 pm. Seconded by Martin Motion approved 6-0
