State Representative Jackie Haas (R-Kankakee) has chosen Frankie's Pizzeria in Monee for her January 2024 local business spotlight. During her visit to the establishment, Rep. Haas presented the owners with a certificate of appreciation for their contributions to the community.

In praising Frankie's Pizzeria, Rep. Haas stated, "This month, we are honored to recognize Frankie's Pizzeria in Monee because of their incredible employees and customer service. Customers rave about their excellent service and appreciate that many of their employees have worked there for years."

Frankie's Pizzeria has a rich history that dates back to its founding in 1983 by owner Frank Aprile. Prior to that, Frank had worked at the pizza place located in their current location. At the age of 22, he seized the opportunity to purchase the restaurant and reopened it under the current name at 23. Over the years, Frank has expanded his business to other locations and has plans to pass it down to his son and current employee, Mike.

Rep. Haas also acknowledged the challenges faced by Frankie's Pizzeria during the COVID-19 pandemic. She commended owner Frank Aprile and his employees for their commitment to remaining open during a time when many businesses, especially locally owned restaurants, were forced to permanently close. Rep. Haas stated, "It was no easy feat for Frank and his team to remain open, and I commend their dedication to do so."
