The meeting was called to order by Village President Timothy Nugent, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Roll call of the Board was made by the Village Clerk.

Motion by Phillips, seconded by Crockett, to waive the reading of the minutes and approve the regular Board Meeting minutes of December 18, 2023, as presented by the Clerk.

Motion approved: 5-0 Boyce absent

Public Works- Trustee Boyce absent, covered by Trustee Martin

• Ordinance 23-14 - An Ordinance of the Village of Manteno vacating a thirty (30) foot wide strip of land being an unimproved and unused extension of North 2000 East Road between Illinois Route 50 and the Canadian National Railroad right of way. Mr. LaRocque explained that as the Village prepares for the sale of the old Public Works facility on South Oak Street, we were notified of a strip of land on the property originally dedicated as a right-of-way. That land needs to be vacated to clear the title before the property can be sold.

Next Public Works meeting on Tuesday January 23, 2024, at 7:00 am Village Board Room has been cancelled.

Parks and Recreation- Trustee Martin

Next Parks and Recreation meeting has been cancelled. Next scheduled meeting will be in Spring 2024. Public Safety and Health- Trustee Dole

• Warning of the recent use of counterfeit $100.00 bills in the Village. Trained employees did a great job of recognizing the bill was counterfeit and contacted police.

Next Public Safety & Health meeting Wednesday January 10, 2024, at 7:00 am at the Village Board Room Planning and Zoning- Trustee Crockett

The next Planning and Zoning Committee meeting will be held on Tuesday January 23, 2024, at 7:00 am at the Village Board Room. The next Planning Commission meeting is cancelled for Tuesday January 9, 2024, at 6:00 pm at the Village Board Room.

• Bills authorized and paid between Board Cycle: $44,929.81
