City of Watseka Finance, Legal & Audit Committee met Jan. 16.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

PRESENT: Alderman Marcier, Barragree, Cahoe, Anderson, Miller, Muench, Alderwomen Rohlfs and DeLahr and Mayor Allhands

Alderman Marcier opened the meeting at 6:30pm. There was no public comment. Alderman Barragree makes a motion to recommend to the council to accept the December Treasurers report and Alderman Cahoe seconded. Roll call carried 9-0.

Alderman Marcier stated the committee needs to approve the ICOM agreement for $126,000 yearly. Alderman Marcier makes a motion to recommend to the council to accept the ICOM agreement for $126,000 a year and Alderman Cahoe seconded. Roll call carried 9-0.

Alderman Marcier stated the committee has demolition bids for 239 W Park Ave. 3 bids were turned in: KB&E Inc. $11,000.00, Lee Farms Excavating $12,400.00, Clean Cut LLC $12,600.00. After a brief discussion Alderman Cahoe makes a motion to recommend to the council to accept the bid from Lee Excavating for $12,400 and Alderman Barragree seconded. Roll call carried 9-0.

Mayor Allhands gave a brief update regarding the Teska proposal for $20,000.00. This $20,000 is for an initial study for all 4 TIF districts. After some discussion Alderman Marcier makes a motion to recommend to the council to accept the $20,000 proposal for a TIF study and Alderman Barragree seconded. Roll call carried 8-1 with Alderwoman DeLahr abstaining.

Alderman Marcier makes a motion to adjourn at 6:39 pm and Alderman Cahoe seconded. Roll call carried 9-0.
