Rep. Haas Honors Local Women at Emerging Women Leaders Event

Springfield- State Representative Jackie Haas (R-Kankakee) recently hosted the Emerging Women Leaders Event in Springfield, where she welcomed Lamekia Davis and Liz Gibson. The event featured a brunch, listening session, and informational seminars led by women in leadership roles.

Reflecting on the event, Rep. Haas expressed, "It was an honor to welcome Lamekia Davis and Liz Gibson to the Emerging Women Leaders Event in Springfield." She highlighted the significance of the event for the local community, stating, "Lamekia and Liz are both emerging leaders in the District 79 community, and this was a wonderful opportunity for them to network and learn more from other women who have succeeded in their roles as leaders."

Lamekia Davis, a Financial Literacy Advocate and member of the Rich Township District 227 Board of Education, and Liz Gibson, the Regional Council Manager of Region 32 for Birth to Five Illinois, were among the distinguished attendees at the event.

Rep. Haas also shared her personal reflections on the event, mentioning, "Attending this event with Lamekia and Liz, along with moderating the ‘Put Your Oxygen Mask on First’ breakout session, were both incredible and empowering experiences that I will never forget." She expressed optimism for the future, stating, "I look forward to seeing the continued success and growth of the women leaders we saw at today’s event."
