Village of Manteno Board of Trustees met June 17.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The meeting was called to order by Village President Timothy Nugent, followed by the Pledge of  Allegiance. 

Roll call of the Board was made by the Village Clerk.  

Motion by Gesky, seconded by Phillips, to waive the reading of the minutes and approve the regular Board Meeting minutes of June 3, 2024, as presented by the Clerk.

• Consideration RE: Manteno Sportsman Club donation request for $10,000 to help fund  the July 3rd fireworks. 

Village Administrator’s Report: Chris LaRocque 

• Update on repairs to Jumping Pillow on Square on Second. New Pillow top had to be ordered and will be installed when received 

Committee Reports:  

Public Works- Trustee Boyce 

Nothing on the agenda tonight. 

Next Public Works meeting on Wednesday June 26, 2024, at 7:00 am Village Board Room Parks and Recreation- Trustee Martin 

• Consideration RE: A motion to approve the Lease Agreement between the Village of Manteno  and Manteno Youth Soccer League (MYSA) for 2024. 

Next Parks and Recreation meeting will be scheduled if needed 

Public Safety and Health- Trustee Dole 

Nothing on the agenda tonight.

• Safety tips for avoiding the effects of excessive heat temperatures that we are experiencing • The Hassett Center is available as a cooling center if needed. Please contact the Manteno Police and they will come and unlock it.  

Next Public Safety & Health meeting Wednesday June 26, at 7:00 am at the Village Board Room Planning and Zoning- Trustee Crockett 

Nothing on the agenda tonight. 

The next Planning and Zoning Committee meeting has been canceled for June 25, 2024, at 7:00 am at  the Village Board Room. The next Planning Commission meeting is scheduled for Tuesday July 9, 2024, at  6:00 pm 

Finance: Trustee Gesky 

• Payment of bills $312,721.33 (includes TIF #3 bills of $191.60) 

• Bills authorized and paid between Board Cycle: $0 

• Ordinance 24-04 - An Ordinance establishing a Tax Reimbursement Account for the 2023 Tax  Year and Authorizing Distributions to owners of Taxable Homestead Property within the Village  of Manteno, Kankakee County, Illinois. 

The next Finance meeting will be held Wednesday June 26, 2024, at 7:00 am at the Village Board Room.  General Government- Trustee Phillips

Mayor Nugent read the items to be included on the Consent Agenda and asked the Board if any item  should be taken off and voted on separately.  

The consent agenda is as follows:

1. Ordinance 24-04 - An Ordinance establishing a Tax Reimbursement Account for the 2023 Tax  Year and Authorizing Distributions to owners of Taxable Homestead Property within the Village  of Manteno, Kankakee County, Illinois. 

2. Consideration RE: A motion to approve the Lease Agreement between the Village of Manteno  and Manteno Youth Soccer League (MYSA) for 2024. 

Awarding of Bids/Contracts and Authorization to Purchase (C) 

1. Consideration RE: Motion to approve a $10,000.00 donation request from the  Manteno Sportsman Club help fund the July 3rd fireworks. 

Financial Reports: (D) 

1. Motion to approve payment of bills in the amount of $312,721.33 (TIF #3 - $191.60) 

Motion by Martin seconded by Dole to take a single roll call vote on the question of passage of agenda  items as designated for voting purposes on the consent agenda. 

Motion Approved 6-0  

Motion by Boyce, seconded by Phillips to approve by an omnibus vote those ordinances, resolutions,  motions, and orders contained on the consent agenda. 

Motion Approved 6-0  

Motion by Boyce to adjourn at 6:53 pm. Seconded by Dole 

Motion approved 6-0
