Westmont Village Board of Fire and Police Commissioners met Aug. 20.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

1. Call to Order

Regular Meeting Minutes August 20, 2024

Chairperson Qualizza called the August 20, 2024 regular meeting of the Board of Fire and police Commissioners to order at 2:00 p.m. The meeting took place in the second floor conference room of the Westmont Police Department at 500 N. Cass Avenue.

2. Roll Call

A roll call of officers was performed: Chairperson Qualizza- Present, Secretary Mulhearn, Present Commissioner Baldwin-Absent A quorum was present Guest: Deputy Chief Brian Gruen

3. Pubic Forum

None- no public present

4. Chief's Forum

Deputy Chief Gruen was present and advised that he is working on getting the scores that the Commissioners need for the ongoing Sergeant Promotional Testing process. He is also collecting the necessary military points and the Chief will have or already did submit the Chief's Points for this testing phase. He advised that August 28th is the I/O Solutions Assessment Center date and they are getting ready for that. The date of September 17 at 10 a.m. is the date and time set for the Candidate's Oral Interviews with this commission.

Secretary Mulhearn made a motion to accept the Sergeant Promotional Test results received from I/O Solutions. Seconded by Chairperson Qualizza

Vote: All in favor; 2 Opposed -0 Motion Passed

D/C Gruen will be sending out the oral interview notices when applicable and will schedule all applicants for both their Assessment Center and Oral Interview testing dates and times.

5. New Business

Chairperson Qualizza presented the issue of probationary police officer candidates not being available for the dates and times she offers them for our initial interview. She asked for permission to be able to determine a date and time that is available for both the candidate and the Commission. She will confer (via our liaison) for a date and time that is agreeable to both the Commission and the Candidate. This motion was made by Chairperson Qualizza, seconded by Secretary Mulhearn

Vote: All in favor-2 Opposed-0 Motion Carried

6. Approval of Minutes

The Chairperson moved the Commission to approve the minutes as read for July 31st and July 16, 2024. Seconded by Secretary Mulhearn

Vote: All in Favor-2 Opposed-0 Motion Carried

7. Invoices

An invoice from 4 Imprint for Commissioner Baldwin's Commissioner Shirt was presented/ Invoice # 27676761 dated July 17 for $86.71.

Chairperson Qualizza made a motion to pay this invoice, Seconded by Secretary Mulhearn.

Vote: All in favor-2 Opposed-0 Motion Carried and bill will be paid

An invoice from I/O Solutions # C605971 for $1,150.00 dated July 31, 2024, for two (2) psychological exams was received. Motion by Chairperson Qualizza to pay this invoice was made, seconded by Secretary Mulhearn

Vote: All in favor-2 Opposed-0 Motion Carried- bill will be paid

An invoice from Conrad Polygraph for polygraph services was received. Invoice # 6196 dated July 31, 2024 for four (4) polygraphs at $200 each for a total of $800.00. Motion to pay the bill was made by Chairperson Qualizza, Seconded by Secretary Mulhearn Vote:

All in favor-2 Opposed-0 Motion Carried- Bill will be paid

An invoice from Conrad Polygraph # 6143 Dated June 29, 2024, for $1,200.00 for six (6) polygraph exams was presented. Chairperson Qualizza made a motion to pay this invoice, seconded by Secretary Mulhearn

Vote All in favor-2 Opposed-0 Motion Carried- Bill will be paid

Invoice #149387 dated August 6, 2024 was received from Premiere Medical for a total of $2,294.0. Chairperson Qualizza made a motion to pay this invoice, seconded by Secretary Mulhearn

Vote: All in favor-2 Opposed-0 Motion carried- bill will be paid

8. Adjournment

Chairperson Qualizza made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 3:35 p.m. Seconded by Secretary Mulhearm, the meeting was adjourned.
