Village of Herscher Board of Trustees met Aug. 29.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Village Trustee, Skip Grigas called the meeting to order with the following Trustees present: Mike Bruner, Jeremy Bauer, Andy Cotter, and Gayle Landeck. Also present was Village President Shannon Sweeney, Village Clerk Heather Meredith, Police Chief Kurt Quick.

Chief Quick says we are having issues with 2 vehicles we need to purchase at least one and get rid of one. The truck is worth $6,000 and to fix the transmission is $6,500. After some discussion, the consensus was to get a new one this year and budget for another next year. We will just need to decide if we get rid of the old Tahoe or truck.

We need to update the contract with the school next year. We had a filming event in the Village for a ComEd Commercial. Chief said it well but was a long process. He said that Jen Cook cornered him about her not being happy about her ticket for not mowing the grass in her easement. After some discussion it was decided we will mow it tomorrow.
