Westmont Village Board of Fire and Police Commissioners met Sept. 5.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

1. Call to Order 

Chairperson Qualizza called the September 5, 2024 Special Meeting of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners to order at 4:00 p.m. The meeting took place in the second floor Conference room of the Westmont Police Station at 500 N. Cass Avenue. 

Guests: None 

2. Roll Call 

Roll Call of Officers was performed: Chairperson Qualizza- Present, Secretary Mulhearn- Present, Commissioner Baldwin- Present A quorum was present. 

3. Public Forum 

No members of the public were present thus no public comments were made. 

4. Ongoing Business 

The polygraph results from Conrad Polygraph for the following candidates were reviewed and a determination on whether to move these candidates onto an internal investigation by the Westmont Police Detective Division was made by the board as follows: 

Candidate #15: Chairperson Qualizza made a motion to pass Candidate #15 onto the Detective for a personal internal investigation. Seconded by Commissioner Mulhearn 

Vote: All in favor -0 Opposed - 3 Motion Failed 

Candidate #19: Chairperson Qualizza made a motion to pass Candidate #19 onto the Detective for a personal internal investigation. Seconded by Commissioner Baldwin 

Vote: All in favor- 3 Opposed-0 Motion Carried 

Candidate #13: Chairperson Qualizza made a motion to pass Candidate #13 onto the Detective for a personal internal investigation. Seconded by Commissioner Mulhearn 

Vote: All in favor-3 Opposed-0 Motion Carried 

Candidate #21: Chairperson Qualizza made a motion to pass Candidate #21 onto the Detective for a personal internal investigation. Seconded by Commissioner Baldwin 

Vote All in favor- 3 Opposed-0 Motion Carried 

5. Invoices: 

The invoice by I/O Solutions Invoice # C60839A, dated August 31, 2024 in the amount of $13,272.50 for testing services was presented. 

Chairperson Qualizza made a motion to approve and pay the above invoice, Seconded by Commissioner Baldwin 

Vote: All in favor-3 Opposed-0 Motion Carried 

The invoice for Conrad Polygraph for polygraph services, Invoice # 6235 dated August 31, 2024, in the amount of $400 was presented. 

Chairperson Qualizza made a motion to approve and pay the above Invoice, Seconded by Commissioner Mulhearn 

Vote: All in favor-3 Opposed-0 Motion Carried 

6. Future Meeting Dates: 

The next testing date for candidates taken from the eligibility list for probationary patrol officers will take place on Saturday, September 28, 2024, beginning at 8:00 a.m. and scheduled at 1.5 hour increments. This meeting will occur at 500 N. Cass Avenue 

The next meeting date to review all Sergeant's Promotional Testing process and scores and determine a final eligibility list and posting for Sergeants will occur on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 beginning at 1:00 p.m. This meeting will occur at 500 N. Cass Avenue. 

The Commission adjourned the meeting at 5:30 p.m. on a motion made by Chairperson Qualizza and seconded by Commissioner Mulhearn 

Vote: All in favor-3 Opposed-3 Motion Carried-meeting
