FOIA Request Sent to City Of Kankakee Regarding Unpaid Parking Violations on October 28, 2024

FOIA Request to City Of Kankakee Regarding Unpaid Parking Violations on October 28, 2024.

As part of our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at the Kankakee Times have submitted a request for records under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140). The request, sent on October 28, 2024, seeks detailed information about all parking violations currently unpaid within the jurisdiction of the City Of Kankakee.

Specifically, we have asked for a list that includes the name of each offender, their address, the amount due for each violation, the date of each violation, and the total amount due. We believe this information is crucial in holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to our readers.

We've requested these records preferably in an electronic format for ease of access and analysis. As a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we have also sought a fee waiver for this request based on our role in disseminating important information to our community.

We will continue to follow up on this request and provide updates as they become available.
