MANTENO—Donna C. Lamore, 62, of Manteno, peacefully passed away at her home on Saturday, October 12, 2024.

Donna was born on December 12, 1961, in Princeton, to Tom and Elizabeth Walters. She married Alan Lamore on November 3, 1984, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manteno. Donna obtained a degree in computer engineering from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and had a successful career as a computer network engineer at Fermilab in Batavia. She was actively involved in various groups such as the Joliet Quit Guild, The “Farmer’s” Quilt Group, and more. Donna had a passion for garage sales, auctions, gardening, traveling, and visiting lighthouses. She was also a member of the Great Lakes Lighthouse Association, the VFW Auxiliary, and St. Joseph Church in Manteno.

Donna is survived by her husband, Alan Lamore; mother, Elizabeth Dyer; sisters, Rita (Lonnie) Byrd and Mana Cook; stepsisters, Lisa (Phil) Turner and Brenda Siegman; brothers, Dave (Denise) Walters and Mike Walters; sister-in-law, Kim Walters; as well as several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Tom Walters; stepfather, Leland Dyer; brother, Dick Walters; and brother-in-law, Ernie Cook.

A Mass in memory of Donna will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Manteno, followed by a Celebration of Life from Noon to 4 p.m. at the Manteno Sportsman’s Club.
